First featured on The Hook Nook Life Blog, this bat hand puppet has been a hit with the Halloween crowd! But can I tell you a secret? Halloween…well…it kind of scares him. He’s not used to so many people out and about during the night, especially children, and they are very noisy creatures, those children.
Don’t get me wrong! He’s very much enjoying all the attention, but most of the time, he really just likes to hang out, ya know. 😉
If you’re interested in a printer-friendly PDF of the bat hand puppet pattern, you can find the design in my Ravelry or Etsy shops! Notes: The body of the bat hand puppet is worked from the top down, in the rnd, with no joining. The arms, wings, ears, nose, and eyes, are made separately and sewn on. The fangs are sewn on with white worsted weight or dk yarn. Pictures below can give more details into the process. Pages 2-4 contain most of the written pattern for easy printing, and page 5 contains the brief instructions for the fangs, and the process images.
Size: This is one size, fitting child through adult, but if you wish to make it smaller for a smaller child to play with, simply tighten the gauge or go down a hook size.
Gauge: 6 sts across and 7 rnds down = approximately 2 inches
