Dog Fleece Lovey Patterns!
I looooove making loveys like these for baby shower gifts or toddler birthdays! Know a dog loving family with a new baby on the way? These are the perfect gift! You can make one of them or both, so that baby has a larger one to play with to as he or she gets older.

Here’s what you need to make the Dog Fleece Loveys!
Polyester fleece, with whatever doggy print you can find!
– large lovey – about ½ yard
– small – about 2, 12-inch squares
Fabric cutting mat – at least 12×18
45 mm Skip stitch rotary blade – make sure the cuts are approximately ½ inch apart
Large ruler or straightedge
Computer printer and paper for printing the form shape to create the fleece body
*Poster board, or large cardboard* Optional, but if you plan to make more than one it makes life easier. You can trace your form onto something sturdier for cutting your fleece!
Any worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice! Yarns used here are listed below.
Taupe, Main Color, A – large – approximately 192 yds
small – approximately 96 yds
Canal, for the collar, B – large – approximately 6 yds
small – approximately 3 yds
Lace, for the snout, C – large – approximately 10 yds
small – approximately 5 yds
Small amount of worsted gray or silver yarn for the collar tag.
Small amount of worsted weight black yarn for the eyes, nose and mouth.
Crochet hook size H – 5mm
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Scissors
Note: you can go up to a ligher weight chunky yarn, such as Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky, and just decrease your hook size to a G-4.25mm! The small lovey in the picture below, was made with Parfait Chunky. 🙂
