Who doesn’t love Winnie the Pooh? I mean, he is probably the most lovable Disney character ever made. He is easily the most cuddle-able, best-friend-forever-able, quotable bear in television.

I absolutely love the novelty Mickey Mouse ears, and I had to create some for such a lovable little guy!

Materials:
Yarn Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice:

Crochet hook size E-3.5mm
Craft plastic headbands, 1-inch white tapered
3-dimensional Puffy Paint in Black
Tapestry needle
Scissors

Terms and abbreviations to know:
Magic ring
ch, chs – chain, chains
st, sts – stitch, stitches
rnd, rnds – rnd, rounds
sl st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
inc – increase, 2 sc worked into the same st
dec – decrease, work 2 sts together to make 1 sts

Notes: The headband portion of this pattern is worked up into two parts, from the tapered ends to the wider middle, where they will be sewn together in a seamless way. Chs throughout the ear patterns never count as sts. Always work the first st of the rnd into the same st as joining.

I hope you enjoy this pattern, and make it for someone you love…and someone who loves Pooh!

Headband, in Mustard, Make 2
**Special Note: Because keeping track of sts and rnds at the same time can be a struggle, I have included the total number of sts for each section where there are no increases, so all you need to do is count the sts, and not the rnds! Also, before each inc rnd, be sure to test out the fit on the headband. It will be tight, and it should be, but if you don’t stretch it out a bit, as you go, it will be very difficult to fit on when finished.
Begin with magic ring.

Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring; 6 sts
Rnds 2-8: sc in each st around; 6 sts  (42 sts)
Rnd 9: inc, sc in next 5 sts; 7 sts
Rnds 10-16: sc in each st around; 7 sts (49 sts)
Rnd 17: inc, sc in next 6 sts; 8 sts
Rnds 18-24: sc in each st around; 8 sts (56 sts)
Rnd 25: inc, sc in next 7 sts; 9 sts
Rnds 26-35: sc in each st around; 9 sts (90 sts)
Put them on the opposite ends of the headband, pulling them to meet in the middle. Seamless sew them together (pictures below). But to seamlessly sew, you will be sewing into each st twice. Line them up so that the final sts of the rnds align with the first sts on the opposite side. Insert your hook into the first open st across from where the tail begins. Insert hook into same st on bottom, new st on top. Then new st on bottom, same st on top; same st on bottom, new st on top. Do this, always going through the same piece first, so that you’re not going back and forth, but always start by going through the piece on the said where your tail began. Knot and weave in ends on the bottom side of the headband.

If you don’t sl st at the end of this, you should have pieces that fit perfectly together like this.

You will NOT be sewing back and forth. You will always go through the same side first. Here, I have already gone through the st on the bottom piece, and am now going through the top piece.

Yarn will go OVER the st on the bottom piece, and UNDER the st on the top piece.

Sew alternately: Same st on bottom through new st on top. Then new st on bottom, but the same st on top, so that you are simulating the sc st as you sew.

I can’t even see the seam!

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Curve it around the top of the blue ear, with the drops hanging down, and sew into place.
Use your puff paint to paint “HUNNY” onto the light blue center. This may take up to 24 hours to dry! You can sew the ear on first if you’d like. I wrote on mine first, then let dry before sewing.

To sew the ears on, I flattened the bottoms just a bit to give them a more stable base, and make them easier to sew.

  1. Hi this is beautiful I’m going to make this for my granddaughter who is going on her first trip to Disney World in Nov and both the Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore ears will be perfect for her thank you so much for making and putting them up on your page for free I will make sure your page is mentioned when people admire them again thank you your work is beautiful 👌👌👌👏👏👏

  2. Making a crochet is definitely challenging to do because it has multiple patters that should be done according to your taste. It was taught to us during my elementary years, but I didn’t totally learn it since I am not naturally creative. On the other hand, I have to agree with you that Winnie The Pooh is one of the cutest Disney characters of all time! The big tummy and the small red short of the character made a global remark indeed!

  3. I am not a psychology major, but I do know some good psychology research ideas. Ideas that can get you good grades in class. And I am willing to share my knowledge with other people.

  4. This is so beautiful that I feel in love with it in an instant! Winnie the Pooh has always been a favorite character of my sister and she will be happy if ever I will be making an effort to make her a Winnie the Pooh Mouse Ears! Her birthday is fast-approaching, by the way. Instead of buying expensive stuff as a gift, I might just do a crochet of Winnie the Pooh Mouse Ears! Isn’t that a great idea? Hopefully, I can have more time to do this!
